Newsletter ~ Heart of the Umpqua Artists ~ Myrtle Creek, OR An Oregon Chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters

Volume 6, Issue 3 ~ March 2009

Hello my fellow paint ladies. I hope that everyone had a wonderful time painting their little bear friends with Chezza. I certainly did. It was great to see our friend from “down under “ once again. She is just a joy. Now it is time look forward to spring and hopefully sunshine. I'm longing to plant my garden already. Phyllis Lynch will move us into March, and prepare us for thoughts of days at the beach with a beautiful box with sea shells painted on it. Then in Aril, Nikki McBride will teach us a wonderful ocean scene. We'll all be ready for a beach party before we know it. I hope to see you all at the March meeting. Don't let any rainy days get you down. Remember that, “April showers bring May flowers” and,”Every cloud has a silver lining”, and all that stuff. It is the changing seasons that make our world so beautiful.
See you all soon. Your President, Barb Steingrobe

This is just a note about our fundraising efforts. We earned $27 from our Treasure Chest drawing. If you have an item to donate to this effort please bring it to the chapter meeting or give it to a board member. Your contributions are truly appreciated and will make this fundraiser a success. We had 3 phones and one ink cartridge turned in for recycling. We will be discussing other options for fundraising in March. We will also decide which charity we want to donate to this year. Please keep these things in mind. If you have any ideas, please contact me or one of the other board members. I will have a suggestion box at the March meeting. This is your chapter. It will be as good as we want to make it. Thanks again, Barb.

Please remember, our chapter is very fortunate - we do not have to pay any fees to use the Tri-City Church of Christ facility. In 2009 let’s continue to show our appreciation and help support their church pantry. In the bag, please put a list of the items you bring and their est. cost, thank you!
