I would like to give a huge thank you to Donna White for teaching a beautiful horse painting at October’s seminar. I hope that the challenge was not discouraging to those who struggled. Please remember that when we push ourselves beyond what we think we can do, we discover that we are capable of so much more. I am very proud of everyone who stretched themselves beyond their normal comfort zone. I didn’t get to see everyone’s painting, but the ones I did see were amazing. Great job, Donna.
I am looking forward now to trying another watercolor piece with Sue Eakin. I hope that all of you will join us. Even those who don’t care for watercolor may find that they might find a new technique that can be adapted to acrylic painting. There is always something to learn, always something to be gained. Until then enjoy the season. Prepare for the upcoming holidays, and remember to count your blessings before you go to sleep at night.

A Watercolor ~ Scottish Loch or Countryside with Lake ~ with Sue Eakin, CDA
Supplies:
1 1/2” Wool Hake Brush (very inexpensive brush) or large flat
3/4” flat
#2 script liner
Quarter Sheet of Arches 300lb cold press watercolor paper
2 water containers
Paper Towels
Small water spray bottle
Grey graphite
One sheet of tracing paper
Watercolor paints will be furnished by the teacher for a small fee.
List of colors: Raw Sienna, Payne’s Grey, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson and New Gamboge

Members will receive one free table drawing ticket the month of their birthday. To receive your free ticket, be sure to see the table drawing person any time before the drawing begins.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Crunchy Pumpkin Desert Squares

1 can (30 oz.) pumpkin pie filling
1 can (12 oz.) fat-free evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 pkg.(18-1/4 oz.) yellow cake mix
2/3 cup chopped pecans
1 cup reduced-fat butter, melted
1-1/4 cups fat-free whipped topping
1. In a large bowl, combine the pie filling, milk and eggs; beat on medium speed until smooth. Pour into an ungreased 13 x 9 baking pan. Sprinkle with cake mix and pecans; drizzle with butter.
2. Bake at 350 for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack. Garnish with whipped topping. Refrigerate leftovers. 20 servings.
